The War in Afghanistan

Operation Enduring Freedom.

Operation Enduring Freedom was the first salvo in America’s war against terrorism after the destruction of The World Trade Center.

Four weeks after the September 11th attacks, U.S. and British forces began bombing Al-Qaeda and Taliban targets and quickly took control of most major cities. Operation Enduring Freedom liberated twenty million Afghanis from the tyranny of The Taliban. It also eliminated an Al-Qaeda safe haven, sending Bin Laden on the run.

Taliban insurgents continue to attack Afghanistan’s newly-elected government. 245 American lives have so far been lost.
